The EPI Group will comply with responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and other relevant safety legislation with regards to its employees and others. This is delivered via the commitment to ISO 45001. It is the policy of the company to provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for all employees. We also accept our responsibility for the health and safety of other people who may be affected by our activities and will act positively where possible, to prevent injury, ill health, damage and loss to both property and the environment arising from our services.
Therefore, the company accepts the responsibility:
- To provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions on its premises taking account of relevant statutory requirements and to ensure all employees are aware of their responsibilities with regards to environmental matters.
- All levels of management shall provide strong and visible leadership by setting a personal example to encourage all employees and company contractors to share a commitment to Health & Safety.
- To provide such training as may be relevant to their particular operations to assist employees at all levels to perform their work safely and efficiently.
- To make available such safety devices and protective equipment as may be appropriate and to secure the supervision of their use.
- To carry out assessments to reduce risk and eliminate hazards in all aspects of the business.
- To see that all new Company or legal instructions in respect of Health & Safety is communicated to all employees, informing them of standards, codes of practice and relevant statutory provisions.
- To establish and regularly review objectives and to fulfil legal and other obligations to enable continual improve the OHSMS.
Employees of the company have a duty to co-operate in this objective:
- By meeting statutory obligations and working safely and efficiently with regard to their own safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
- By properly using provided safety devices and protective equipment
- By following the correct accident reporting procedure for incidents that have or could have caused injury or damage.
- By applying good judgement to eliminate unsafe acts and conditions and understanding they have the authority to stop the work in progress if they observe unsafe acts and conditions.
- By co-operating with investigations of accidents with the object of introducing measures to minimise the possibility of reoccurrence.
- By adhering to company procedures and observing instructions designed to contribute to the protection of health and safety.
- Communication and participation for workers about Health & Safety, accident prevention and environmental issues will be encouraged at all levels. To this end safety meetings will be held on a regular basis and employees expected to attend.
This statement of Health & Safety will be communicated to all employees of EPI. The overall responsibility and accountability for the system lies with Senior Management team.
