EPI providing UXO support for US Wind
EPI is thrilled to announce that they are supporting US Wind, Inc. (“US Wind”) with comprehensive UXO support in the Maryland offshore lease area.
US Wind, Maryland’s leader in offshore wind development, acquired an 80,000-acre federal lease area off the coast of Maryland in 2014. In 2017, the company was awarded Offshore Renewable Energy Credits (ORECs) from the State of Maryland for the first phase of its MarWin project. In total, the company’s lease area can support approximately 1.5 gigawatts (GW) of offshore wind energy capacity.
“EPI Group, using highly experienced UXO specialists, will ensure the UXO risks are safely reduced to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) following international best practise,” said Kim Godfrey MIExpE, UXO & EOD Manager at EPI Group. “We will be supporting US Wind from the Initial UXO Threat and Hazard Assessment through to the operation of their UXO Mitigation Strategy. It’s a great opportunity to showcase the breadth of our services, while providing US Wind with consistency of service and the best support.”
